NACB is the Academy of AACC.  It was founded in 1976 as a separately incorporated not-for-profit organization. In June 2006 it dissolved its corporate status and merged with the AACC.

An 11-person Board directs the Academy through strategic leadership with an emphasis on long-term benefits for the Academy and the field of health care.
